The weekly driveway appointment doesn't happen by itself. Meet the founders, regulars, and neighborhood characters who make Garbage Nite what it is.
Johnny brought the concept of Garbage Nite back from California. A Montana native who grew up with dark alley dumpsters, he fell in love with CA's driveway neighborhood culture and started the weekly driveway tradition in Minnesota. Builder of the OG website. Even though he's moved to AZ he still FaceTimes us!
According to legend, Al has never missed a single Garbage Nite (hospital visits excluded). Through the subzero Minnesota winters and the mosquito-thick summer heats, Al's presence is as guaranteed as the garbage trucks themselves.
If Dan can't build it, no one can. An early regular from the Minnesota era. Along with Al, James and Tim, Dan represents the backbone of the driveway crew.
A corner stone on the driveway and main provider of the tasty's for the annual fish fry.
James joined in 2011 and has been a driveway fixture since. Always good for a sixer, plus, of silver bullets. I'm the one who decided to resurrect the website.
Even though Shawn lives a few blocks over, he's become a driveway staple.
AKA Butch. He's no longer in the neighborhood but still occasionally makes it. Whether it's bringing the Yuengling from a sales trip or showing up as the resident Santa, Andy keeps the driveway lively no matter the season.
AKA Homie. When he's not curing cancer, you can find him debating the ethics of AI and the benefits of smoke on the driveway.
A classic neighborhood fixture and long-standing regular. Always ready with a cold drink and a good story.
Part of the original MN crew and early driveway gatherings. Still finds his way from Eden Prairie time to time.
Cal represents the timeless spirit of hanging out. Famous for setting the start time at 8:20, and keeping the guys laughing.
Matt became a driveway regular in 2020, cruising around in his Black Dodge with his fresh white kicks. He lives on the high ground, near James where he puts his security background and DIY mindset to good use. Whether its securing the parameter or lending a hand with a neighborhood project, Matt always has the tools, and spotless footwear, for the job.
